Trip to Israel and Jordan 2021 (Archeology and Holy Land)

Travel itinerary:

Day 1. Ben Gurion Airport / Tel Aviv

Arrival at the Ben Gurion airport, assistance and transfer to Tel Aviv.

Arrival at the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

Day 2. Jaffa – Cesárea – Haifa – Acco – Tiberias

The day begins with a visit to the old Port of Jaffa. We will visit the old port city of Jaffa, now an artist neighborhood.

We will continue along the coastal road towards Caesarea, to see the archaeological ruins of the ancient port city of Herod, an important Byzantine center and bastion of the Crusaders. Lunch at noon.

The trip continues to Haifa to appreciate a panoramic view of the Persian Gardens of Bahai Temple and Haifa Bay. Continuing towards San Juan de Acre to visit the ancient medieval fortification.

At the end of the day, the trip continues towards Tiberias. Arrival at our hotel in the Galilee, dinner and accommodation.

Day 3. Beit Alfa – Beit Shean – Beit Shearim – Tiberias

Breakfast. Departure to Beit Alfa to see the beautiful mosaic floor of a synagogue of the Byzantine era.

Continue to Beit Shean, known in antiquity as Scythopolis. Beit Shean is the largest archaeological park in Israel, with beautiful excavations from Roman and Byzantine times.

Lunch at noon.

Continue to Beit Shearim and visit the archaeological park.

Return to the hotel in the Galilee, dinner and accommodation.

Day 4. Tiberias – Sheikh Hussein – Jerash – Aljun – Petra

Breakfast and departure to the border of Sheikh Hussein between Israel and Jordan.

Continuation towards the city of Jerash, one of the cities of Decapolis. Jerash is located north of Amman, about an hour away by road.

During the tour, we will visit the Arc de Triomphe, the Oval Square, the Cardo, the Colonnade, the Temple of Aphrodite and the Roman Theater, with a wonderful acoustics.

Then we will visit Ajlun Castle, a fortress built in 1185 and rebuilt later in the 13th century by the Mamluks, after its destruction by the Mongols. It is a castle from the time of the Crusaders, located at the top of the mountain and from which a beautiful view is contemplated.

At the end of the visit, departure to Petra.

Day 5. 

Breakfast. Full day dedicated to the visit of the pink city, capital of the Nabateans.

During the visit, we will visit the most important and representative monuments sculpted in the rock by the Nabateans. The Treasury, famous and internationally known monument, taken to the cinema in one of the Indiana Jones movies, the Colored Tombs, the Royal Tombs, etc.

Petra is one of those places in the world to which, at least, you have to go once in your life.

At the end of the visit, in the afternoon, return to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 6. Petra – Little Petra – Border – Jericho – Jerusalem

Breakfast. Departure to what is known as “Little Petra”, just fifteen kilometers north of Petra. Its narrow pass, barely two meters wide, with its typical Nabatean architecture carved into the rock, makes this visit unique and incomparable. It was inhabited by the Nabateans and has many tombs, water deposits and channels.

We will cross the small road that leads to the interior area, Siq Al Bared. The scale to this area and the architectural similarity with Petra, gave it the name of Little Petra.

Departure to Jerusalem and border crossing. On the way, visit Jericho, the oldest city in the world and the first city that, according to Jewish tradition, was conquered by the Children of Israel after their flight from Egypt.

Arrival in Jerusalem, dinner and accommodation.

Day 7. Old city of Jerusalem

Breakfast. Exit to the Mount of Olives, for an impressive panoramic view of Jerusalem.

We will cross the Kidron valley to visit Mount Zion and the room where tradition says that the Last Supper was developed.

We will pass through the old Roman Cardo and the Jewish quarter, to reach the Western Wall, a sacred place for Judaism. We will have the opportunity to see the dome of the Mosque of the Rock on the Temple Mount.

Visit the New Davidson Center and, near the Western Wall, the archaeological excavations of the tunnels along the western wall. We will walk in the Christian quarter, to walk the Via Dolorosa, and finally we will conclude our visit in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 8. Jerusalem

Breakfast. We will begin the day with a visit to the Museum of the Tower of David, where we will know the history of the city of Jerusalem.

We will continue to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum, touring the museum, the children’s pavilion and the valley of the lost communities.

From there, we will continue to the Museum of Israel, to visit the Shrine of the Book, where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls are found, and see the model of Jerusalem from the time of Jesus.

We will finish with a view of the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament.

Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 9. Masada – Dead Sea – Qumran – Jerusalem

Breakfast. We cross the Judean desert to the Dead Sea, located in a depression of more than four hundred meters which is considered the lowest place on Earth.

Visit to the Masada fortress, where the Jews heroically resisted the attack of the Romans. Lunch at noon.

We will pass by one of the resorts that are located on the shores of the Dead Sea to relax and float in the salt water.

On the way back, visit the Qumran Caves, where the monasteries of the Essenes were and where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.

Return to Jerusalem, dinner and lodging.

Day 10. Jerusalem – Ben Gurion Airport

Breakfast.

Transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, for departure to the countries of origin.

– The price of the international air ticket from the country of origin is not included, and it is borne by each traveler. We remain available to clients in case they wish us to handle this issue from our agency.

– They can request prices of international flights, without the consultation requires any kind of commitment on the part of the traveler, who can acquire their international tickets where it suits you best, regardless of whether you make the tour with us or your optional extensions.

– Airport taxes are subject to revision until the moment of ticket issuance.

– The order of the visits could vary, if for organizational and logistics needs it was more advisable. Although we organize our trips in the greatest detail, we must consider that there may be unforeseen changes beyond our reach regarding the itinerary or services contracted, due to the exceptional political and social situation of Israel.

Cancellation fees:
– This trip is subject to special conditions of cancellation expenses on the total amount of the trip, in addition to being governed by the general conditions of the Law of Combined Travel.

– Once air tickets are issued, they can not be modified or canceled, so in case of cancellation, their expenses are 100% of the air ticket, regardless of the expenses corresponding to the days of cancellation.
